The essentials

This website sets no cookies, uses no third-party trackers and does not embed external services such as Google Fonts, CDNs or social media plugins. Fonts and all other resources are delivered from our own server. There are no user accounts. We only collect form data if you sign up via “Get the Code” or book an appointment via “Talk to an engineer” (see below).

Server log data

When you visit the website, the web server processes technically necessary data that your browser transmits automatically: IP address, date and time of access, the page requested, referrer URL, browser and operating system used. This data is required to deliver the website and to keep it technically secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is not combined with other data sources and is deleted automatically after a short time.

Web analytics with Plausible (self-hosted)

We want to understand which content is used. For this purpose we use the open-source analytics software Plausible Analytics, operated on our own server at analytics.wildcardtech.de. No data is transferred to third parties.

Plausible works without cookies and does not store any personal data. Only aggregated usage data is collected: pages visited, referrers, approximate origin (country), device type, clicks on external links and on downloads, submitted forms (without their content), scroll depth and time on page. The IP address is processed only transiently to form an identifier that changes daily and cannot be traced back; it is not stored. This rules out identifying individual visitors or tracking them across websites. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring the reach of our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Newsletter (“Get the Code”)

On the product pages you can sign up for our newsletter via “Get the Code”. It tells you about new products, releases and our open-source projects, including when a product's source code is public. For this, we process your email address on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

After submitting the form, you receive an email with a confirmation link (double opt-in); your address is added to the mailing list only once you confirm.

For sign-up and sending we use Brevo, a service of Brevo GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany. Brevo processes your data on our behalf and according to our instructions, under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR that is part of Brevo's terms of use ↗. When you submit the form, your browser sends your email address and technically necessary data such as your IP address directly to Brevo. Brevo may also use some of this data itself to keep its platform secure, for example to detect attempted fraud or hacking; details in Brevo's privacy policy ↗.

We use your address only for this newsletter. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, via the unsubscribe link in every email or by email to post@wildcardtech.de. Your address is then removed from the mailing list.

Without JavaScript, and on pages without a sign-up form, “Get the Code” opens a prepared email to us instead; the section Contact by email then applies.

Appointment booking

Via “Talk to an engineer” you can book an appointment with us. It takes you to the booking page of Brevo Meetings (meet.brevo.com), a service of Brevo GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany. There you enter the details for the appointment, such as your name and email address. We process them to prepare and hold the appointment (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Brevo processes the data on our behalf, under the data processing agreement that is part of Brevo's terms of use ↗ (Art. 28 GDPR). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for the appointment and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process your details to handle your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; for contractual matters, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed to handle the inquiry and no statutory retention obligations apply.

External links

This website links to third-party websites. When you follow these links, the privacy policies of the respective operators apply; we have no influence on their data processing.

Your rights

You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we process (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can object, with effect for the future, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). To do so, contact post@wildcardtech.de.

You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen).
